🤖 OpenAI releases a free GPT model that can run on your laptop - LINK
OpenAI has released GPT‑oss, its first open‑weight language model in over five years. It includes two versions—gpt‑oss‑120b and gpt‑oss‑20b—that can be downloaded and run locally on devices like laptops or smartphones. This marks OpenAI’s move back to open models since GPT‑2.
The models are licensed under Apache 2.0, meaning they can be used, modified, and shared even for commercial use. OpenAI says the 120B model rivals their closed o4‑mini, while the 20B model operates on devices with just 16 GB memory.
This release is meant to boost innovation, making AI accessible for developers and researchers worldwide. OpenAI hopes to spark a wave of new tools and products built on these open models.

🌍 Google’s new AI model creates video game worlds in real time - LINK
Google DeepMind unveiled Genie 3, an AI model that creates interactive 3D worlds in real time from simple text prompts. These environments run at 720p and 24fps, with visual memory lasting up to a minute to preserve object placement.
Genie 3 lets users change scenarios on the fly, like switching weather or adding characters. The goal is to support training, entertainment, and education with realistic simulated worlds. It’s currently available to researchers via a limited preview.
While still early, DeepMind calls Genie 3 a key step toward artificial general intelligence, as it offers open-ended environments for AI agents to learn in. The model does face limits like uneven text rendering and restricted input control modes.

🤖 Anthropic Releases Claude Opus 4.1 With Agentic, Coding and Reasoning Upgrades - LINK
Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.1, an improved version of their flagship model. It boosts performance in coding, reasoning, and agentic tasks, scoring 74.5% on the SWE‑bench for software engineering—better than previous versions.
The model is available to paid customers via the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and in GitHub Copilot for Pro/Enterprise users. It’s a seamless drop-in replacement for Opus 4, with no price increase.
Opus 4.1 dramatically improves multi-file code refactoring, agentic search, and detail tracking—users report more precise fixes and fewer bugs. Anthropic says even junior devs see a full standard‑deviation gain on performance tests.

🎵 ElevenLabs launched Eleven Music - LINK
ElevenLabs launched Eleven Music, an AI system that lets users create music from text prompts. It's cleared for commercial use thanks to licensing deals with Merlin Network and Kobalt Music Group, avoiding major label data.
The platform generates studio-quality music—even vocals and instruments—in many genres and languages. It is aimed at creators for use in film, podcasts, ads, apps, and games. Users can legally use the music without fear of copyright claims.
Eleven Music also includes safeguards to block lyrics that reference real artists or contain violent/obscene content. The company hopes this tool will let small creators make licensed music affordably and safely.
